Apple had a huge lock-in with a large number of people because they had been selling music, movies and tv shows....and Apple isn't in the app business or content business as a core business. Apple is selling iPhones and iPods. 30% of the application revenue doesn't account for much compared to selling the phones themselves. There's just no way Samsung can put everything together that makes up a smart phone ecosystem along with the OS.
