“I don't think the answer is as complicated as you make it out to be either.Prison should be for punishment and protection of the general public period. If you do a crime that warrants a life sentence then you serve a life sentence as punishment.What is cruel and inhumane is the action that made the offender get a life sentence in the first place. You people defend these scumbags, making excuses why they committed their crimes but you always forget about the victim who either got raped or murdered. Let it happen to someone in your family and I bet you would be singing a different tune.

Nothing funny happens on SNL anymore. I still watch it because I always have and hold out hope. It's really astounding considering just how many writers they have. Week after week for years now it's been mostly awful.

I think it depends what you do. If you're working in a factory on the production like that offers little mental stimulation, but if you get to engage the brain cells then that's different. My grandfather got bored after he retired and went back to work as a director of a car dealership. And look at Stephen Hawking - he's at an age where most people have retired but he's taking up a new position. A lot of scientists and people like that who are passionate about what they do wouldn't enjoy retirement. |
