@bjornski, putting a gun to someone's head to force them to pay for the medical expenses of a poor individual is more immoral than not being charitable and saving someone's life when you can afford toThis is really simple stuff. This is basic morality. You don't force people to do things on the premise that the ends justify the means. @zoomer,--You want to talk about "immoral"? Whats immoral is a private corporation dropping one's "ability to see a doctor" for some silly pre-existing condition.---You sign a contract with an insurance company that stipulates what obligations they have to you. If they violate that contract, you can take them to court. If they did not commit to covering a certain condition, then they are under no obligation to do so. It's an individual's own responsibility to check the contract they sign. People shouldn't be treated like children. They should be free to make their own decisions, and should be responsible for the consequences of those decisions.

I guess he just tried to escape the harrowing memories of losing a child and just couldn't do it.Sure he should have sought help but who's to say he didn't and professsional help doesn't always do the trickR.I.P..
First off, Taipei's a bad ass city. One of the most underrated cities in Asia. :DSecondly, mad props on that honor for Taipei and its famed building, though winning the award would have been a cinched to garner, since it's already the 2nd largest building in the world. :PAnd last of all, doesn't Taipei 101 look like a bunch of Chinese take-out boxes stacked one on top of another? :O!

Totally agree. I didn't go to school at UCSB but I grew up right next to it in Goleta. When you factor in the sheer number of people living in the average room there (probably 4+), I'd guess its right near the top of the list. Median home prices in Santa Barbara have been over $1 million for years now.
